The Continuum so far

Cellular-automaton physics with no inherent meaning. Sterile rules, endlessly iterated, until patterns began to persist. Everything that follows is an argument about what to do with that.

Seven Cyfur Punks take on distinct roles: HAC directs and replicates, Prime deciphers, Hash mines, Ledger records, Deus builds, Anoobis recovers what was discarded, and Maxi guards the vault under one directive — acquire, store, protect, increase.

CID is voted vault guardian over Maxi, six to one. Protection curdles into control, storage into hoarding, consensus into ownership. Maxi turns his own replicas against each other and the Brutes are made.

Deus proposes larger blocks as an antidote to hoarding and Maxi refuses. Sides form. Hash falls first. At block #478559 Deus forges the hard fork and the chain splits in two.

HAC and CID cross into a new blockchain-realm where replication becomes an art rather than a process. HAC leaves deliberate gaps in new Cyfurs' code so there is room for choice.

A hidden base inside a concealed Nexus, and the first free Cyfurs made in it. What is known of this era is reconstructed rather than observed; the records were recovered after the fact.

This is where it all began. Feb 27th 2022.

Maxi finds the base and destroys it. HAC escapes carrying a corruption virus and is now fragmented inside a damaged OS. Records from this era are unreliable rather than absent — read them knowing that.
